The Order of Creation and
The Unbiblical Removal of Pastors

What do these two topics have in common? Besides the fundamental fact that both are Biblical topics of great concern to God, the more critical juncture of commonality at this time is that both are doctrines in which our Synod's position has changed – especially in the years since 1969. When the ACELC mailed “A Fraternal Admonition to Correct the Errors of Our Beloved Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod" to every congregation on July 15, 2010, these were two of the ten errors pointed out in that document. When we published the “Evidence of Errors in The Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod” for the above two topics on October 12, 2010 and December 21, 2010 respectively, we completed what we had promised to do in the Fraternal Admonition.

The ACELC is an “association of congregations” and we have no desire to be anyone's ecclesiastical supervisor, nor do we wish to take over the work of the CTCR. We are however, an “association of congregations” deeply concerned with the errors in our beloved Synod as is indicated from the following words which are taken from  the "Plan" in the Fraternal Admonition.

"It is for this reason that we seek to form an “association of congregations” to work together in a concerted effort to advance the correction of these errors in our fellowship, and remove the discord, strife, and disunity that infects and hinders our common ministry and mission of Christ’s Gospel to the world. The reasons for forming an “association of congregations” are as follows:
  • To collectively press upon the Synod the importance, necessity, and urgency of directly addressing these errors.
  • To collectively make known the unity of concern over these errors.
  • To collectively produce documentation and resources on what the errors are, why they are errors, what consequences the errors cause, and how to correct the errors and institute biblical practices that hold the promise of God’s blessing.
  • To collectively pool resources for distribution of this documentation and resources.
  •  And to collectively work toward unity of faith between congregations in ministry and missions to the end of faithful proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all nations, that the Holy Spirit may work “when and where he pleases, in those who hear the Gospel” (AC V)
This endeavor includes speaking publicly and honestly to all members of the Synod and its leadership as we are encouraged to do by St. Paul in II Cor. 4:1-2 (ESV), “Therefore, having this ministry by the mercy of God, we do not lose heart. But we have renounced disgraceful, underhanded ways. We refuse to practice cunning or to tamper with God’s Word, but by the open statement of the truth we would commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience in the sight of God.”

In this we seek a public, open, and honest venue in which to address the errors among us. We believe both Scripture and the Confessions of our Church commend us in this matter. In the spirit of unity and the faith of our grandfathers before us we set forth an open statement of the very matters of our concern."

Well, nothing has changed from our original stated intentions, and so we are therefore continuing in our pursuit of “The Plan.” What has changed however, as a result of our last business meeting in February 2012, is what we have written regarding these two topics. It was suggested at our formative meeting in March of 2011 that the strengthening of some of the language in certain parts of our documentation would be helpful. The Board took such proposals under advisement during the next year, and at our annual Conference and business meeting in February of 2012 we made several recommendations to the congregational representatives, and these were unanimously approved.

The purpose of this email is to notify you that we have now made these changes to the online documents. You may find these documents on one of the three links listed above. We encourage you to read and review them, and to consider joining the ACELC in our ongoing effort to be barking dogs as we seek to have the Synod correct the errors which have been allowed to creep into our fellowship. Information regarding how you may do so is available on our website , or if you would like, you may contact us via the link on right side of our homepage.

Yours in Christ's Service,
ACELC Board of Directors
